| If you are under 21 and you fail a chemical test (blood alcohol level was 0.08 to 0.149) or suffer an alcohol or drug-related conviction you face a 1 year suspension of your driver's license/driving privileges (in addition to the criminal penalties). If you are under 21 and you fail a chemical test (blood alcohol level was 0.150 or higher) or suffer an alcohol or drug-related conviction you face a 1 year suspension of your driver's license/driving privileges followed by another year of driving only a motor vehicle equipped with an ignition interlock device (in addition to the criminal penalties). If you are under 21 and your alcohol level was between 0.02 and 0.079 you face a 30 day administrative suspension of your driver's license/driving privileges followed by 330 days of restrictions. There are no criminal penalties for drivers under 21 with blood alcohol levels between 0.02 and 0.079. |
